This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Jon Patton's Blue Warbler

Continuing Jon Patton Week with a vibe/tremolo effect called the Blue Warbler. It features envelop control over the LFO and can be built with one or two LDR stages (layout below reflects the 2 stage version). Jon explains it best, so be sure to check out his build doc and demo below. It'll be a little tight in a 1590B because of the way the pots are board mounted, but should be doable.

  1. Been meaning to build this one for ages so thanks for the layout.
Can you shed some light on the resistors with the varying values? Had a quick look but couldn't find much info on how they change the effect.

    1. Read Jon's build doc. He goes into those resistors in detail in his explanation of the circuit.

  2. You can tag it as verified. I changed the CLR to 2.2k
